Buying Local in Times of Social Distancing

Please check in periodically, and email Portia (portia@localfoodhub.org) if you know something that should be added. Local Food Hub is working to ensure that family farms (the backbone of our regional food system) survive this crisis, and that the vulnerable have access not just to food, but to fresh, nutrient-dense food. Learn more and support our efforts here.  Farmers are among those who stand to suffer the most from this crisis. At the same time, of the food that is getting to people in need, very little of it is fresh or local, despite known health benefits of fresh, nutrient-dense products. Thankfully, Local Food Hub partner farms and producers, and the larger community are reacting with innovation. Below are a variety of ways to access healthy, local food in this time. Community Supported Agriculture:When you sign up for a CSA, you are essentially paying in advance for several weeks of produce from an independent farm.
