Pop-Up Markets Launch Today!
Summer is here! It’s hot, it’s sticky, and you’re craving a weekend BBQ with lots of fresh, local fruits and veggies. Am I right?
Then join us this afternoon as we launch the third season of our Pop-Up Markets with the Boys & Girls Club!
From 3:30 – 5:00pm, we’ll be set up in the courtyard of the Cherry Avenue Center, selling some of the finest local produce you can get your hands on, including:
pink lady apples, blackberries, nectarines, peaches, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, onions (red & yellow), sugar snap peas, english peas, collards, kale, swiss chard, eggs, and honey.
YUM! And, residents with SNAP benefits may take advantage of a dollar for dollar match, up to $10!
This program is near and dear to my heart because it does so many darn good things:
- Boys & Girls Club kids get great job and business experience;
- The community gets better, more affordable access to fresh, healthy food; and
- Farmers get a new market for their produce.
Oh, and don’t forget — this year you’ll be shopping for a cause: thanks to a generous gift from the LeRoi H. Moore Fund, every dollar spent at the market goes directly to the Keystone Club annual field trip.
