Listen to Your Food
Interested in local foods, the future of farming, health and food access in Virginia? Of course you are!
So please consider participating in the upcoming Virginia Food System and Farm-to-Table Listening Session in Charlottesville on June 9th.
These listening sessions are being held around the state to offer citizens an opportunity to record their thoughts, concerns, and proposed solutions to developing a strong statewide food system.
Some questions include:
1- What does a healthy, safe food system look like to you?
2- What are the challenges, opportunities and priorities for strengthening Virginia’s local food system?
3- What is needed to increase production, distribution and consumption of local food?
Typically these meetings are attended by academics and institutions, not by citizens, farmers, gardeners, and educators. This means that YOUR opinions are not being heard! If they are not heard, they are not considered and in turn not addressed by policy makers.
Please SAVE THE DATE and make your opinion count!
Date: Thursday, June 9
Time: 5:45-7:30 pm
Place: JABA – 674 Hillsdale Drive, Charlottesville
(refreshments provided)
