Have you ever thought about trying your hand at canning and said, “I just don’t know where to begin?” Well, here’s the answer! On July 14, join millions of food lovers curious about canning to learn the ease of preserving fresh food as part of National Can It Forward Day.
Whether you are new to canning or a seasoned pro, canning is always more fun when shared with friends. Make plans to join us at The Haven as we celebrate the bounty of summer with a special canning class. We’ve designed the class to feature the freshest seasonal produce and to demonstrate the basics of water bath canning. We’ll show you how to safely process fresh tomatoes and peaches, and give you confidence and motivation to expand your canning horizons!
Registration for this class is $20.00, and proceeds benefit the Kay’s Kitchen programs at The Haven at First and Market. This is a hands-on class, where participants learn as they work, and class participants will take home a jar or two of the finished products.
