Have you ever thought about trying your hand at canning and said, “I just don’t know where to begin?” Well, here’s the answer! On August 13, join millions of food lovers curious about canning to learn the ease of preserving fresh food as part of National Can-It-Forward Day.
Join us on August 13 as we celebrate the bounty of summer with a special canning class. The menu will feature the freshest seasonal produce from Local Food Hub’s participating farms, and canning experts will demonstrate the basics of water bath canning. Afterwards, the class will prepare, preserve, and share:
- Corn Relish
- Zesty Zucchini Relish
Yum! Registration for this class is $30.00, and proceeds benefit the Kay’s Kitchen programs at The Haven at First and Market. This is a hands-on class, where participants learn as they work. Class participants will also receive a Ball Canning Discovery Kit, along with some fresh tomatoes, courtesy of the Local Food Hub, so you can continue to Can it Forward from your home!
